Galeria Heavy Structure Gel is used here in an unusual manner, rather than mixing it with paint it is used underneath paint. The gel offers a strong surface texture with high peak retention. Using the gel to create a texture on the surface first, once the gel is dry it can be painted over with either acrylic or oils. This allows for greater versatility when planning a patterned, textured ground and the combination of materials is fine because oils can be used on top of acrylic.
