Oil paint can be used over acrylic, so acrylic paint can offer you the opportunity to paint a quick-drying underpainting for your work. This is a faster way to begin than using oil to underpaint. Beginning with a primed support, we show how acrylic colours Iron Oxide Red and Chromium Oxide Green make for great coloured surfaces to start your painting. Once completely dry, you can create an oil painting on this lovely ground. Remember, you cannot use acrylic over oil, only oil over acrylic.
