Combining Watercolours, Watercolour pencils and Iridescent Medium, this Masterclass shows how you can mix these materials. First, a watercolour wash is laid out on the paper and then the is pencil gently applied lightly to reveal the surface texture of the paper. This combination of smooth and textured layered on top of each other provides an interesting effect. Then the watercolour pencil is applied to the paper in a heavy swatch, and water and Iridescent Medium added. This creates a shimmering paint that can also be applied over the earlier wash. These materials can work together to compliment each other.
