Exploring Winsor Emerald

Winsor Emerald was produced as response to Emerald Green, which was banned in the 1900s due to the toxicity that resulted from the high arsenic content in this paint. Contemporary Winsor Emerald has been formulated to provide the same blue-green impact, without the toxicity. Shown here in use with three other colours, we see how Winsor Emerald shifts beautifully when combined with Sap Green, Permanent Green and Titanium White, creating colours that are great options for artists who use a coloured ground in their work.
