How to create 'Vermilion' in Artists Oil Colour by mixing colours

How to create Vermilion
Vermilion is no longer a colour in Artists’ Oil Colour because it can be ‘mixed by the artist’. In order to achieve the nearest to this colour, we would recommend a mix of Cadmium Red, Cadmium Red Deep and Titanium White.

Cadmium Red is the closest match, so add very small amounts of Cadmium Red Deep and even smaller amounts of Titanium White. As with most things, colour mixing is a matter of experimentation and only you will find the mix that pleases you the most. Vermilion is an opaque colour with an orange undertone. The Titanium White will ensure the opacity and the Cadmium red will give you the vibrancy.
