A Blog by Glyn Macey

Glyn MaceyCornish artist Glyn has just started his 9 month fundraising trip around the English Coast to raise money for the RNLI.  Following the great success of his previous fundraising project, Glyn will be producing 180 paintings from around the English coastline which will be auctioned on Ebay over a 9 month period, starting on Tuesday 1 July 2008. The paintings will cover an area including the Lancashire and Cumbria coastlines and Northumberland all the way down the coast to Cornwall.  We are very excited to have Glyn blogging for us during his travels and you can read all about his experiences here

SOUTHWOLD -6am March -

Can't write, so cold.

Bright sun but freeeeeeezing - beautiful, beautiful town.

The best pier, fabulous beach, beach huts, superb early Georgian houses, galleries, delis and wellies......even the milk bottles left on the doorstep for collection look like a still life.

Adnams brewery and the most handsome of lighthouses in the centre of the town, any further requests?

WALBERSWICK

Fantastic spot, literally a painting everywhere you look.
Slimy posts, boats, tarred cottages and huts, nets, chains...Daphne duMaurier would have loved it.

Just down the road is Sizewell, an amazing beach, perfectly clean, boats pulled up. Soft, soft sand and pebbles.

Look behind to see Sizewell A&B reactors - MASSIVE - the argument continues; the public distrusts nuclear and at the same time complains about the huge wind farm up the road at Yarmouth!

What is the answer???
