About Usha

• Honorable Mention, My Art Contest 2010 • Silver Award, “Darling,” IPAT Eastern Regional Convention, Indianapolis, IN, 2005 • Bronze Award, “Victorian Beauty,” IPAT Eastern Regional Convention, Indianapolis, IN, 2005 • Merit Award, “Blue Iris,” Auburn Art Association, Juried Art Exhibition, Auburn, AL, 2003 Passion for colors and years of training in mediums such as oils, acrylic, porcelain, pastels, abstracts, mixed media and pottery has brought me to a point where I am now known nationally and internationally as an artist who breathes life into a canvas.

After years of working as a representational painter, I began to experiment intuitively with acrylics. I try to bring a fresh, vibrant vision of the world through my abstracted imagery and layered use of the medium. I use the power and universality of color to communicate with the viewer.

Usha's Work

My paintings contract and expand, hum and vibrate with the rhythms of my world. I represent myself as an inventive colorist, using the hues of my palette to evoke an emotional response from the viewer who is drawn to explore implied imagery in fields of color. These unexpected points of reference lead to narratives invented by the viewer. When this occurs, I believe I have fulfilled her purpose.

My recent shows in California and San Francisco gave me a big boost and encouragement. I feel that listening to the viewer's feelings and seeing their expressions is the best treat and satisfaction for any artist. My work has been exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally in galleries, cultural centers, and public venues. My work is also included in numerous private collections in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Usha uses Winsor & Newton because
Artists Oil Colors are one of the best quality paints and pigment strength. Love the acrylic paints too. Mediums and oils are a must for any artist.
