About Robert Lemay
I've had over 25 solo exhibitions in Canada since 1987. I have shown in galleries in Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto. I'm influenced by contemporary artists such as Claudio Bravo and Antonio Lopez Garcia and the Canadian artists Jack Chambers and Alex Colville. Historically I'm interested in Caravaggio, Velazquez and Georges de La Tour.

Robert Lemay's Work
I’ve been a still life painter since I began my career in 1984. I’m constantly looking for new subject matter and am currently working with things such as old books, bird’s nests, penny jars, and candy. I’ve long been enthralled by baroque art and have seriously studied the themes of the history of still life. But I’m also deeply interested in contemporary art and in my recent work I bring these two passions together in my paintings.

Robert Lemay uses Winsor & Newton because
The paint is excellent quality at a reasonable price. I find that the consistency of the paint itself is perfect for the type of realism I do.
