Patricia Sanchez's Work
Patricia begins her creative process with multiple sketches and once she has captured the total idea, she creates a digital collage for a complete view of her piece which she then transfers to canvas. Her figurative work shows a magical realism where fantasy and reality merge naturally. This gives her work a sensation that nothing is impossible.
She aims to transmit optimistic subjects who demonstrate the goodness of human nature so as to invite critics to perceive a more positive reality. With these principles in mind, Patricia chooses to portray children as she believes that they are best at dreaming and believing and also because they are intuitively more honest with themselves, being free of thought and feelings. Her choice of subject also lies in Patricia's desire for her pieces to bring to life the inner child within the viewer.
Patricia only uses Winsor & Newton materials due to the quality bring to her complete works. She uses Winton Oil Colour along with Artists' Oil Colour to enrich her colour range.
Patricia also uses a wide selection of Winsor & Newton mediums to complete her work. She uses Liquin Original to obtain more light and transparency and Liquin Impasto to develop textures. Then, when she needs improve the colour flow she uses Linseed Stand Oil because it is the best non-yellowing medium. She usually finishes with Dammar Varnish to obtain the best long-term gloss finish and to ensure the care and final impact of the finished piece.
