Mercedes Farina's Work
Mercedes is a passionate oil painter who has adopted a constant theme in her work. One that appears from many points of view and indicates different attitudes, that theme is the human being.
Mercedes finds inspiration for her paintings from "a gathering of ideas that has to do with my imagination along with visions that I capture from the reality surrounding me. The main characters from the paintings are people from my social environment, people with a special sensibility for art in many of its faces. Through a dialogue with them, I encourage them to perform with the body".
The Master Painter Eduardo Mac Entyre has describes Mercedes work as follows; "nude fine art refuses all kind of light anecdote, no superfluous details can distract the eye, letting us appreciate the work in its full dimension, which leads to a balanced aesthetics harmony in the perception of beauty. Unlike other artists, Mercedes transmits a very particular vibration when we contemplate her works. Vibration through the optical sense, takes us to her highly spiritual and poetic climate, where the sublimation and the ideal of femininity go beyond the suggestion of the visual perception."
Mercedes' training and knowledge, (other than through education) has been acquired from studying the great painters of the History of Art. The detailed study, reproduction and analysis of paintings provides Mercedes with the highest reference material when the solution of a problem is required.
Her work is the result of "a mix of great teachers, lots of everyday work and lots of love for what I do".
