About May Kaddah

In the neighborhood where I grew up in Cairo, there were English and Swiss artists residing and I was first introduced to the world of colors in their gardens and studios.

I have participated in many group exhibitions since I was 13 years old, as well as held my own solo ones in many different places. I have also travelled to Paris and Turkey as part of my art studies.

Currently, in my garden studio I often hold critiques and give painting and arts and crafts classes to aspiring art students. Painting is an ongoing emotional experience for me and I share it with many of my colleagues, clients and acquaintances, in Egypt, the US and Europe in my monthly newsletter, Chronicles of Colors.

May Kaddah's Work

Colors have always served as a palpable means of expressing abstract thought and interpreting objects in my surroundings. My goal is to use suggestive lines and dig deep in my mind and imagination to interpret subjects and catch overall impressions.

My subjects until now vary between abstracts and different subjects in my surroundings. My future aim is to keep working in translating subjects from the rich Egyptian ancient and modern history and landscapes into colorful paintings and lines. Currently, based on demand, I am focusing on creating a painting portfolio inspired from the Egyptian countryside.

May Kaddah uses Winsor & Newton because
I can trust the quality of what I am buying.
