About Brian Neher
I'm a professional portrait painter from Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in both private and corporate commissions. I have studied under world renowned portrait painter, Joe Bowler, and my work has been featured in American Artist magazine as well as on national public television.
Brian Neher's Work
I'm a representational painter who enjoys studying the works of late nineteenth century artists such as John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn and Joaquin Sorolla. I primarily paint commissioned portraits, but also enjoy painting still life and landscapes as well. My current projects include several commissioned portraits as well as the recent completion of a series of instructional art DVDs for artists which focuses on the principles of art and how they apply directly to painting. One of the unique qualities about my paintings is the use of light, particularly when it comes to outdoor subjects. I enjoy painting the warm and cool effects of color that take place outdoors.
