About Allen Shufflebotham
Allen was recognised as a talented artist when he was a school boy. Having left school he went into engineering but always remained focused on art. In 1967 he sustained a sporting injury that side lined him from his employment, this gave him the time to pursue his interest in painting and from that time on, he has built up a reputation as an accomplished artist winning several national prizes.
Allen Shufflebotham's Work
The interest in aviation comes from his father who spent many years in the Royal Air Force. He has been a member of the Guild of Aviation Artists society since 1977 winning the Flight International Trophy in 1982, the Aviation painting of the year in 1992 and the Wilkinson Sword on two occasions. In 2008 he was the Winsor & Newton award winner for the "Best Group of Paintings" at the Mall Galleries in London.
His other subject of interest is Marine life and the coastal scenes around the British Isles. He is now retired and spends most of his time painting mainly in oils, and the occasional watercolour.
