About Vandana Joshi Kuusinen
I was born in 1970 Delhi, India and did my schooling in Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow. Later on, I graduated from the college of arts and craft (BFA) after five years.
I worked as an Art Teacher in prestigious school in Lucknow from 1995 to 2004 and by marriage moved to Turku, Finland in March 2004. I also worked as an Illustrator in a local magazine as well as a TV-Anchor at Lucknow TV. I am inspired by nature and the vibrancy of colors, especially the flow and transparency in water colors.
I have painted in different mediums, oil; water, tempera and acrylic and my paintings show nature, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, murals, still life and modern abstract compositions, Indian mughal art and miniature paintings. Horses and landscapes have always fascinated me and I have sketched quite a few horses in different compositions, abstract and real form.
I am interested in different compositions of Lord Ganesha, Indian forts and palaces but I still balance it with contemporary modern art. I like bold strokes and the fine details of nature and the equilibrium maintained in nature. My paintings have been on displayed in several exhibitions.

I am still searching my style as, I like the transparency of water, as it dries fast and can be worked upon, but at the same time I like to work with acrylic and oil as they are rich and so versatile, giving unlimited scope and dimensions to work.
In water colour I like to paint more natural sceneries and natural beauty and in oil and acrylic I like to paint compostions or modern abstract/contemporary. I am fond of nature and therefore my work generally surround nature in all state.
