About Quim Alcantara

I developed my own abstract style over time. I have a solid experience in art painting, having worked at Art Atelier Gogo & Pimpa for 5 years and painted freelance in murals for great clients like America Restaurants, CasaGrande Hotel Guaruja (Colonial Cafe, Thai and Atlantico Signature Restaurants) and the Brazilian luxury store Daslu, among others besides Trompe L’Oeil paintings and editions of Casa Cor decor show.

I also studied visual arts, design and art history classes during this period. It was in late 2009 that my creation of artworks gained consistency.

Quim Alcantara's Work

I paint current issues like global warming to make people think about it, but without forgetting the beauty of art so that they can enjoy the paintings.

My work is focused on contemporary politic-environmental facts like the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, Amazon deforestation and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. My actual phase highlights the influences of cubism, post-impressionism and modernism, with acrylic paint on canvas and raw fabrics.

Quim Alcantara uses Winsor & Newton because
It's the best paint I ever used! It flows magnificiently from the brush to the canvas, have a good coverage and vibratibility that make my paintings stuning!
