About Erica Mohan
I started taking art in Middle School. At that time I didn’t take it as seriously as I did in high school, it was just a hobby that I thought I could take a little further. When I went to high school, I took art throughout all 4 years. In my junior my year, I received a Scholastics Gold Key for a watercolor painting of mine. My final year I decided to take the college level art course, and I came out with a 4 on my portfolio. That same year, I was able to sell one of those portfolio. I learned all my techniques from my high school art teacher, Brooke Anderson. She has been a true inspiration and an incredible influence on me.

Erica Mohan's Work
My style is more of a realist. I like to try and capture images as I see them. I mainly do portraits, but lately I’ve been trying to expand my horizons to figure studies and/or even objects. My main techniques are lifting and washing, otherwise the rest just deals with how much ink I apply to the paper. Currently, I am working on a mix tape cover for a local friend of mine. Otherwise, I am simply working on paintings for loved ones and their special occasions. I believe one of my unique qualities compared to other artists has to be the way I see color. I like to focus on what will make my artwork standout from others? With the help of Drawing Inks, I’m able to achieve a rich and intense splash of color to lure my viewer’s eyes towards my paintings. I also believe one of my eccentric abilities comes with my ability to use Drawing Inks themselves. The tricky concept of ink is that it can become extremely saturated very quickly. The key is to manipulate the inks to create the desired fading effects you need relatively fast.

Erica Mohan uses Winsor & Newton because
The brilliance and intensity of their Drawing Inks make my artwork stand out.
