Artists’ Water Colour
About Alessandro Andreuccetti
Alessandro Andreuccetti was born in San Gimignano, Italy, July 28, 1955. Alessandro studied art and architecture in Florence and after graduating started a career as a graphic designer.
From 1978 Alessandro established an interest in watermedia painting, fascinated with the technique and the support of hand-worked paper and began to show paintings in many italian towns.
In 1983 Alessandro won the 1st prize at "Concorso nazionale del fumetto e del Fantastico di Prato" and started to collaborate with Sergio Micheli of University of Siena and the editor Nerbini of Florence to create comics and illustrations. Alessandro then continued to publish two graphic novels and many illustrations for various books.
In parallel with the graphical activity, Alessandro continued studies in art taking inspiration from the landscapes, figures and colours to merge in new perfectly independent compositions.
Alessandro Andreuccetti's Work
Alessandro is fascinated by watercolours; "this ancient and refined technique, studying the great masters of the past, from Turner to Delacroix, through the British and Italians painters of the XIX century, noting their colours through washes and drop of water, are gathering in fantastic and mysterious colours. When the water dries it leaves its trace of pigment that is fixed on the paper surface with results never discounted and absolutely unique: the poetry of the watercolours lies in its elusiveness, each work is a work in itself, unique, made of discoveries, mistakes, tricks and wonders.
In the footsteps of the masters I'm trying to find my way in the development of technical staff and issues, looking for landscapes and figures in the shapes and colours to mix in new compositions perfectly autonomous. The landscape familiar to me, is designed by the sunlight of Tuscany when laying on the vineyards and olive trees, winds through the woods and fields plowed Lights, finally crosses the thousands of country roads that wind between the infinitely beautiful Tuscan hills ... and through this Tuscany I try to produce evocative works of moods and sensations, where light and color play an important role apart from the subject you choose, be it a pine forest from Versilia (which immediately turns into a magical place) or a country street (which is cloaked in mystery).
Tuscan Hills is my horizons and my palette, my area of "hunting" and exploration, as it were for all those artists and intellectuals who at the wandering of the "Grand Tour" went down in Tuscany to stay in love".
Alessandro Andreuccetti uses Winsor & Newton because
Alessandro uses Winsor & Newton watercolours because their pigments are absolutely reliable. Alessandro has used Winsor & Newton watercolours since school and has not changed brand, mostly using the color tube, but also likes the Large Pans and is very satisfied with them.
